This Saturday, 42 year old Edward Spencer, a train operator on the Piccadilly Line, is going to run and walk the entire 40 mile length of the Piccadilly Line to raise money for the NSPCC. All in one day.
You can follow his training and event updates on his website and help him exceed his £750 target by making a donation on his JustGiving page.
We really like the way his website uses Google maps, Flickr and the JustGiving widget to make his fundraising even more personal and engaging for supporters.
Go Edward! A brave challenge for a great cause…

Thankyou for highlighting my event. I aim to depart Uxbridge Station at 9 a.m on Saturday and I hope to arrive at Cockfosters by 5 p.m. I will be passing all stations inbetween which makes 42 stations. I aim to run as much of the 40 miles as possible and will stop briefly at certain points for fluids and nourishment. My eldest daughter will be following me on the train. She has kindly offered to follow me to make sure I am ok. She has A levels exams this week and next so will probably be revising on route!
Many thanks for reading this especially for those who donate.

40.55 miles!
I managed the first 16 miles easily. At 16.5 miles I had a huge pain in my left foot. Had probs with my left knee and left ankle during previous training runs and I am left handed so possiible running bias for lefties!
The last 24 miles were hell on earth. I limped the last 4 or 5 miles as I could not put any weight on it. Not ashamed to say I cried tears of relief when I got to Cockfosters, just seeing my family and best mate waiting for me was so emotional.
NB. Anyone who said they will donate if I completed it please do so.
Mant thanks for all of you that have posted kind words and donated some of your hard earned money already.
