Is it possible for someone to set upa regular donation to JustDifferent through Just Giving without using the internet?

Is there a direct debit form that could be completed instead please

    Hi Lesley

Although anyone can set up a regular donation to JustDifferent through Justgiving, by searching for your charity and clicking ‘Donate’ then selecting the ‘monthly’ option, we don’t accept Direct Debits at the moment.

  3. We would like to add our event to the event page for the charity site :-
    http://www.justgiving.com/msfuk

The event is the Yoga Aid Italian Challenge on May 24, 2009 – Rome, Italy.

We have chosen MSF as our charity partner for the event and having our event listed like the Flora Marathon will have make it easy for people to create pages.

    Thank you,

    Clive

Your charges are excessive, opportunist, unjustifiable and unethical. I challenge you to justify the 5% plus that you effectively extort. Your administration costs must now be miniscule -what plans do you have for reducing them signigficantly?

Thank you for your question Neil. Far from being excessive and unethical, we believe that our fees represent great value for money for charities. This is why over 6,700 charities are using Justgiving to raise funds, and why hundreds more continue to join us every month.

They have chosen us because our model is simple, transparent and totally risk free. When a donation is made on our site, we send 100% of it to the charity and apply our charge once we have successfully reclaimed the Gift Aid from the government. Charities get about £12 for every £10 donated, and they get it quickly, so our service helps their cashflow.

Charities know how expensive fundraising is. Most UK charities spend between 15 and 25p to raise a pound. Unlike traditional methods such as direct mail or newspaper advertising, our model involves no upfront costs whatsoever.

Charities also know how costly, difficult and risky it would be for them to create and maintain a state-of-the-art technology platform able to capture high volumes of donations, not to mention automatically reclaim Gift Aid on every pound. Until Justgiving came along, a lot of charities, especially the small ones, were not able to reclaim Gift Aid at all.

In short, this is what we do for our fee: we create and maintain the complex systems needed to handle large volumes of tax-efficient donations, and to build the new fundraising tools that charity supporters demand, so that charities don’t have to. We have invested, and continue to invest, millions of pounds into our platform and support services for the benefit of our charities. We are not happy with simply maintaining the system as it is but are constantly developing our website and infrastructure. To do this, we need sustainable revenues.

In that regard, we are not dissimilar to other utilities that charities routinely need, and pay for, whether it’s water, electricity, or web access.

I thought you may interested to know that we have reinvested all our profits in to the business, and our investors have yet to get a penny back, nearly ten years on. We are very grateful to them for taking such a long view and putting the interests of our charity members first.

  6. As a charity with no staff and funding many off the running costs ourselves we watch every penny. When I first found out about Justgiving some years ago I was very sceptical as we were and are consistently approached weekly to spend copious quantities of money on all manner of services and products to apparently help us in our charitable aims. Many of these are way over priced and are to my mind creaming off the back of the charity sector in the name of discounted support – NOT. I can say with 100% confidence that the service provided by Justgiving is proactive, supportive, consistently updated, helpful, fit for purpose and value for money. I wish more organisations would follow their business like, customer service orientated lead. If you know me, you will appreciate that the last two statements are not written lightly. It saves us considerable administration time and effort, which I now consider a valuable tool and asset in our fund raising charity toolbox. I do not like spending any hard earned charity money that I do not have to but consider what we currently pay in fees to JG to be value for money.
